NESSL is a Reformed Christian denomination headquartered in Beirut, Lebanon. Its Arabic-speaking congregations are Presbyterian in polity, and serve the communities in which they reside.

compassion protestant society (CPS)

Compassion Protestant Society (CPS) is the diaconal arm of NESSL and is separately incorporated as a non-governmental organization (NGO) to raise funds and to carry out relief projects in Syria and Lebanon. CPS manages four schools for Syrian refugee children in Lebanon in Minyara, Mijdlaya, Kab Elias, and Tyre, serving about 350 students (Sept 2023).

NEAR EAST SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY (NEST)

NEST is an interconfessional Protestant Seminary serving the evangelical churches of the Middle East. The primary purpose of the School is to train pastors and church workers for ministry in the churches and other evangelical organizations in the Middle East. It is also concerned with continuing education for pastors and church workers in active service and with theological education of the laity. NEST website

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA)

PDA is the emergency and refugee program of the Presbyterian Church (USA). It serves the ministry and mission of the churches of NESSL in Syria and Lebanon, as well as assisting in other parts of the globe and in the US.  PDA Syria link

Presbyterian MINISTRY AT THE UNITED NATIONS 

Active since the United Nations was formed in 1945, the Presbyterian Church has held special consultative status since 1998, allowing the Presbyterian voice to be heard by the global audience. Link to the Presbyterian Ministry at the UN

PRESBYTERIAN PEACE FELLOWSHIP (ppf)

A group of peacemakers whose concerns are national and international, PPF works within PC(USA) promoting ‘love, peace and justice’ in the world. PPF website

OFFICE OF PUBLIC WITNESS (OPW)

As the public policy ministry of PC(USA) in Washington DC since 1946, OPW provides information about and advocates for the policies of the General Assembly (GA) on behalf of the church.  OPW staff visit with national policy-makers and their staff, make phone calls, testify before committees, and interpret  Overtures as approved by the GA.

ISRAEL/PALESTINE MISSION NETWORK (IPMN)

"In joyful obedience to the call of Christ, and in solidarity with churches and our other partners in the Middle East, this network covenants to engage, consolidate, nourish, and channel the energy in the Presbyterian Church (USA) toward the goal of a just peace in Israel /Palestine by facilitating education, promoting partnerships, and coordinating advocacy. IRAQ PARTNERSHIP NETWORK (IPN)

The IPN is a collaborative of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Reformed Church in America and the United Church of Christ. “Through the network, PC (USA) congregations are helping to support the schools operated by the Iraqi Presbyterian churches and to support the work of these congregations in responding to the needs of thousands of internally displaced Iraqi families.”
