How the Presbyterian Church in Lebanon is
Responding to the Current Crisis
The Syria Lebanon Partnership Network stands alongside our partners in Lebanon as the country is engulfed in war again. We ask for your prayers for Lebanese civilians who are now displaced and for those grieving, as we ask for prayers for all those suffering in the entire region. As of this writing (March 6, 2026) hundreds of thousands of Lebanese have been displaced. We share with you the May 2026 Lebanon Humanitarian Response Situation Update from our partner, the Compassion.
'God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble' (Psalm 46). With over a million Lebanese still displaced because of the Israeli-Hezbollah war, which continues despite the so-called ceasefire, the Presbyterian Church in Lebanon is responding with hope and love. The Compassion Protestant Society (CPS), the diaconal arm of the National Evangelical Synod of Syria-Lebanon, is reaching out to the displaced with a multi-faceted response. We share with you the May 2026 Lebanon Humanitarian Response Situation Update from our partner, the Compassion.
Local congregations are working alongside CPS in the relief effort. On page 5 of the update, there is a meaningful story about how the Presbyterian Church in Tripoli, Lebanon is connecting to displaced persons in that community.
